Re: How do I summarize distances?
massimo, You posted your question in the 'How Do I' Questions forum of QCAD Professional. I would refer you to the Features page: https://www.ribbonsoft.com/en/documentation/features Look under ' Measuring tools ', the ' Total length of selected entities ' is listed as a Pro only feature in blue. Su...

Re: [solved] Very Strange Behavior - Corrupt DXF?
HappyShat, As is, there where 45 visible and 533 invisible entities with NonZeroZ coordinates out of 602 drawing entities. QCAD is capable loading such files and even creating such files. (QCAD/CAM exploits 3D information in toolpaths) Functional up to a point, QCAD drawing tools are mostly intended...

1. Is there a icon in the existing professional version? For sure: NP1.png NP2.png NPmenu.png Perhaps you have turned off visibility in Menus, Toolbars and/or the Tool Matrix. See: menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. General .. Tool Settings Look up: Draw .. Point .. 'N points on Line' and veri...

same experience, I am just curious if it isn't a problem with the latest version.... Thank you for the file by PM. - Format: R24 (2010) DWG Drawing (OpenDesign) (*.dwg) - 148Kb - Saved as dxf (Autosave) 514Kb => Not considered as a large file. Re: Calculate curve to make two curved panel fit together
Thanks! Can you explain (1) how you calculate the fit points, so I can do it myself at home. Already explained earlier: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=10725#p44210 In a Spreadsheet: - Column A: Row 10-82 = values 0-72 (nn below is 10-82) - Column B: = Ann multiplied by 5 => Degre...

Re: very slow to work
@ Jkiss If you could share such a file we could have a look at it. 1400 Line segments should not be an issue but remind that QCAD is basically 2D. If considered proprietary then attach it to a Private Message. Easiest entry point is double clicking on my user name and take it from there. Regards, CVH

Re: Calculate curve to make two curved panel fit together
About 40 flutes per foot = 12 inches would ideally segment the outside with edges 0.3 long. The outer curve of R = 12.92522 + 0.15 is 20.46241354 long. But segmented it is about 20.46196722 long. We need to keep the width of the developed interior to make it fit laterally, but the length needs to be...

Re: Calculate curve to make two curved panel fit together
FB, Used the arc of d36_dome_arch_0,1.dxf R = 12.9252188715954 D = 25.8504377431908 Sweep = -89.66656284 (8 digits) => Length = -20.2276670292275 Then the 73 fitpoints are: 5.35380095325549,0 5.33342812427165,1.12793812925123 5.27246468685015,2.25587625850246 5.17137460956051,3.38381438775369 5.0309...

Re: Calculate curve to make two curved panel fit together
... I think you messed up the title in that last post ... An octagon that spans 35.7 has a face of 14.78742417671961107, not 14.79 An octagon that spans 10 has a face of 4.14213562373105137, not 4.14 The arc is presumed not to be 20.23 long. That looks again as rounded/truncated values. The splines ...

Re: Calculate curve to make two curved panel fit together
Time to t ry to draw a correct fixed width spline for the cover pieces. Remind that each arc size has its associated spline by Math. If you settle for a certain radius or radii I would gladly provide the fitpoints. The quick draft Excel sheet is still open, merely a question of entering a radius an...

Re: Calculate curve to make two curved panel fit together
FB, The arc in d36_dome_arch_0,1.dxf is CW and tangent to vertical at the right. Similar as what I proposed for the 32" version. - - - - - - The arc in d40_dome_arch_0,1.dxf is CCW and tangent to the top plane. The left side of the vertical box is orthogonal to the 5" line and goes trough the point ...

Re: [solved] - Toolpath Skips Block
I'd be grateful if you could share how you would handle a project like mine? I see your problem. Reading another topic on groups it seems that ACAD has something like that. It does not entirely mimic the Block functionality and I read about issues with that. In my wish list I added an entry for som...

Note that the "C:\Program Files\QCAD Professional" part might be different Andrew, ...QCAD/scripts/File does not exist on a standard installation.
