Re: Extra zooming required to see font attributes, linetypes on curves
Andrew, thanks for the quick response. QCAD software and the support provided are world-class excellent! I was not able to get benefit from adjusting the linetype scaling to 10, 100, 1000, 10,000. I did set the auto-switch for linetypes - thanks for that. The 'text as paths' left rectangular boxes a...

Extra zooming required to see font attributes, linetypes on curves
OS: Windows 10 Pro QCAD: 3.26.4.0 (3.26.4) Build date: June 4, 2021 Bolded fonts appear normal until the zoom level is increased sufficiently Linetypes on curved lines, which used to display without problem now require excessive zooming to appear correctly. Creating a PDF however shows the fonts and...

Thank you Husky! The install with the issue is in a remote office, I'll report back as soon as I can check.

[solved] Copy of part of a layer to a layer copies the whole layer
I have two separate QCAD installs. On the first I am able to copy items from a layer in a non-QCAD DXF file into a QCAD file onto a specific layer, no problem. However, in the other installation (perhaps different application configuration?) when I copy a handful of items from a layer, QCAD seems to...

Re: How do I quickly set and draw a perpendicular?
Thanks for the quick response, Huskey! Your method looks pretty good to me. I like it, but I 'll have to get used to it. It eliminates having to remove the line segment my method left behind. For others who may be reading, there were slight differences for me: LO - then left-click once anywhere in t...

How do I quickly set and draw a perpendicular?
Let's assume I have a horizontal line of 75' (scale: 1"=20'). I would like to draw a 10' vertical line down from that line at a point 15.3' from the left end of the line. My current approach is to use the horizontal line segment tool, set the length to 15.3' and, starting at the left end of the line...

Re: How do I use the Point tool to create a relative point
Ah ha. I was not setting the 'Y' value, assuming it was zero - it was blank. Setting to '0' works fine.
Thanks, Husky!

How do I use the Point tool to create a relative point
I want to establish a point 5.2' from a previous point. I have been clicking the 'Point' tool and selecting a point and then the 'Coordinate' button which provides the short menu for X and Y relative distances. I set 'X' to 5.2 and then ... what? I can't click anywhere. Perhaps there's even a better...

Re: Scale a drawing (based on an import) to fit Legal
First of all thanks so much for the help. The QCAD support is outstanding and makes the excellent product even more excellent! Your recommendations worked like a charm and what a great result. Only thing is the Auto-Zoom did not work until I removed the four "Point_..." layers which are unnecessary ...

Scale a drawing (based on an import) to fit Legal
Have had some difficulties getting things to scale as desired. I received a DXF file created from a very old Surveying tool (Stakeout for Windows.) It imports fine and I have modified it to requirements. The last thing I have to do is get it into a Legal sized PDF. So when I double-click Layout1 the...

How do I change lineweight for a layer
I can change color, but neither lineweight or line thickness. I have tried Misc -> Modify -> Set Attributes by Layer ... but no luck. (Saw the earlier post) This actually worked for a layer I wanted to change earlier when I couldn't change the color, but now 'color' seems to be the only attribute I ...
