Exporting a selected toolpath problem

Attached is a drawing with 3 toolpaths; the second and third path are of a selected part of the drawing. Exporting the first selected toolpath (inside circle) works, and creates a readable file. After that, exporting a selected toolpath (and setting a new name in the CAM configuration) runs the data...

Re: CAM simulation problem

A related bug (?)
If I have a drawing with several different tool paths and start the Simulation Panel, the panel will always play the first toolpath, independent of which toolpath is enabled / selected.

Re: G-Code import (backplot) function

Thanks Andrew, yes that worked. So in the new page, the G-code creates what looks like an object. Would I then add the object to the original drawing and regenerate a toolpath for that, or would I copy a toolpath generated from the 'object' directly into the toolpath list of the original drawing (if...

Re: G-Code import (backplot) function

Thanks for the answers. However, I am trying to understand on a more basic level what happens with imported G-code. Did not try the actual code yet, which is plain linuxcnc anyway. As a test I made a small file with: G0 X0 Y0 Z5 G1 F1000 G1 X100 Y100 G1 X0 Y100 G1 X0 Y0 M30 When I import that, I get...

Re: G-Code import (backplot) function

This is interesting. I recently spend a few hours to see how I could add G-code to my design. I am trying to cut large plastic nuts with internal thread. The blank inside and the hexagonal outside are easily generated as two separate toolpaths in QCAD. I have a G-code routine that cuts internal thre...

CAM simulation problem

When I open a file with a Toolpath in QCAD, I can select the CAM Simulation panel and it works normal. However, if I close that file and open another drawing, the CAM simulation panel will not start again. It will only work if I first close and restart QCAD. To test I made two small files (attached)...

[Solved] Drawing a Polygon

I want to draw a six sided polygon using Polygon, Center, side. The menu in the toolbar allows to set the number of corners in addition to the radius, which I give a value and select it. This should make it a one click setting. I click the center, which starts the polygon, but it still insists on se...

Re: Installing QCADCAM Qt5 on Linux Mint 20

Indeed. Is there even a 32 bit Qt5 version?

It sits on this laptop, so here you have the precise indication:
qcadcam-3.24.3-pro-linux-qt5.13-x86_64

Certainly - 64bit. Linux Mint 20 does not have a 32 bit version. Which I noticed when trying to install an old 32 bit only application...

Installing QCADCAM Qt5 on Linux Mint 20

I installed the just released Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon on my laptop (older model, 8GB I7 2630QM, Radeon 6650HM), made no modifications. Then I tried to Install the QCADCAM 3.24.3 Qt5 version. Install window shows, but the process stops at the point showing "Initializing add-ons 99% BrowseUserManual". ...
