"Add block" from Block menu not working?

If I select some entities and pick the "Add block" toolbar button, I get asked for a reference point, and I get my block with all the entities in it -- no problem there. If I select some entities, then use "Add block" from the Block menu, I don't get asked for a reference point, I just get a new blo...

How do I edit properties of many entities all at once?

I am dealing with .dxf files exported from another drawing program. The colors of things are often by entity rather than by layer. It's very time consuming to start the property editor, select an entity, change its color to "by layer", select another entity, change its color to "by layer", etc, etc,...

Qcad 2.2.2 for Fedora x86_64

I ordered the Qcad cd, but the only Linux install on it is for 32 bit machines, and I've got a 64 bit Thinkpad, with Fedora 10 installed.

Is there a 2.2.2 Qcad for 64 bit Linux available?
