64bit executable
Dear Andrew, now that I've seen the community edition compile and run as a 64bit binary, I can't keep myself from asking, why there is no such package available for the pro edition? Most of the premium additions are scripted so should work without porting. Is it the opendesign modules? is it the dup...

Re: Another build error
Cool, that was the only nit, a triviality. I just loaded a simple drawing into a real 64bit qcad3.1 ! Andrew this is a great gift to the free software world. I wish you all the luck, that a thriving community will make this a sustainable business for you! Off to buy the package.

Re: QCad 64bit
It's true, that 64bit by itself would not bring much, if any, advantage for running qcad. Possibly, speed might increase, because 64bit cpus have doubled the count of registers and can better optimize. The user's pain mostly stems from the way the 32bit userland on some linux distributions is diffic...

Re: Cannot start QCAD on Ubuntu 12.04
Would you try to launch the application from the commandline with the "style" argument?
./qcad -style plastique
(The release version should use the plastique style automatically, but RC5 maybe not...)

Photo Printer Test Chart
I prepared some fotos for exposing to paper that I care about. I searched the web for a simple test chart, and did not find, what I was looking for, so I began drawing my own. Not satisfied with the Siemens star, that I could create in inkscape, I launched qcad. Attached the results of my leisurely ...

Re: Winkelbemassung Bogen

Re: ubuntu 12.04 woes
Hello Ray, so you have installed the dependencies package and you did not get any warnings about missing dependencies. That should mean, that your system is already set up to run qcad3, and you do not have to perform the "repair" step in the procedure mentioned above. From the "ls" output I see, tha...

Re: ubuntu 12.04 woes
Hello Ray, from the error message, I suggest you check, where the file is. In the directory, where you issue the command, is there a file "qcad3-deps_1.0_i386.deb" at all? Maybe it is named slightly different, or is living in another place? You might try the package attached to above post of mine: I...

Re: ubuntu 12.04 woes
Indeed, ubuntu 12.04 precise seems to be in the middle of a transition to a revamped multi-arch system. For a fully working 32bit subsystem maybe this command should also be uttered in some terminal: $ sudo apt-get install --reinstall lsb-core

Re: Scripting question, open template
Got it sorted out by looking at "NewFromTemplate": NewFile.createMdiChild(); this.documentInterface = EAction.getDocumentInterface(); this.document = EAction.getDocument(); in place of "NewFile.prototype.beginEvent.call(this, false);" seems to do what I want. Though I do not understand, why this wor...

Re: Scripting question, open template
Sorry for waking up this old thread. Yet, the method in here, to programmatically open a template and use it as a base for further scripted drawing, got broken between release candidate 5 and qcad 3 final. NewFile.prototype.beginEvent.call(this, false); will no longer stuff the callers "this" with a...

ubuntu 12.04 woes
I could not resist, when upgrade-manger suggested that ubuntu 12.04.1 was available for my 10.04 box, I took the bait. What a mess that turned out. Especially it centers around multi-arch. To make the long story short, here is what I found: The ia32-libs package is to be removed some time in the fut...
