Re: How do i - get zig zag lines from AutoCAD to show properly?

You didn't mention you were using the free Community Edition... Complex line types are indeed QCAD Pro only. I'll move to the correct forum.

Re: How do i - get zig zag lines from AutoCAD to show properly?

Followed your steps; reloaded linetypes, changed linetype scale to 1 but to no avail :? Works for me. Check you're not in draft mode ( View > Draft mode unchecked) and not in screen based linetype mode ( View > Screen-based linetypes unchecked). Make sure your installation is not messed up with cop...

Re: Problem with line type when converting DWG to PDF

In your screenshots you appear to be printing / viewing the model space. In model space, linetypes are not scaled to paper units (as there is no paper and everything is in drawing units).

I can offer you to implement a switch to override the linetype scale in dwg2pdf (i.e. -ltscale=1).

Re: External Reference / Block Reference

You could insert a file as a block (File > Import) and when the block needs updating from the file, re-import it and check the "Overwrite blocks" option.

Re: How do i - get zig zag lines from AutoCAD to show properly?

It looks like the linetype definitions in the file are broken.
Try this:
1. Misc > Modify > Reload Linetype Definitions
2. Select the red line
3. In the property editor, change the linetype scale to 1

Re: How do i - get zig zag lines from AutoCAD to show properly?

Do you have a (reduced) drawing file you can attach? Thanks.

Re: how to use ecmascript drawing tools within a script??

For polylines, you have to use the RS.AlongPolyline flag:

Code: Select all

this.curve.getAngleAt(distance, RS.AlongPolyline|RS.FromStart);

Is the script-generator commited anywhere else?
Not that I'd know.

Is that a sensitive/tough topic?
No, just not very relevant for the vast majority of QCAD users / developers ;)

Re: Polyline to spline

There's no dedicated tool for that. Here's a way to do it without clicking each point. First, we have to set an undocumented preference in the QCAD3.ini file (we only have to do this once): 1. Misc > Development > Script Shell 2. In dialog click "Show ECMAScript Shell" 3. In the script shell, type: ...

Re: how to use ecmascript drawing tools within a script??

CircleTPR is an interactive tool that requires the user to enter a radius, click a shape (for the tangential requirement), click a point and then choose one of the two possible solutions. You cannot use such an interactive tool in a script that presumably runs fully automatically without any user in...

Re: Problem with line type when converting DWG to PDF

Line type patterns (and also lineweights) are paper based. For example a dashed line with 2mm dashes has 2mm dashes on paper (independent of the scale at which the drawing is printed). This is expected / correct behaviour. The linetype scale factor can be used to adjust all linetype scales on paper ...
