Re: More on Blocks

Is there a way to size a block dynamically once inserted into a drawing? Currently I am doing this by using the scale command. It works but it is tedious. Dynamic scaling, by referencing two points, is really the way to go at the time the block is inserted.

QCAD Pro Inactive after launch

When I launch Qcad Pro in my iMac the program opens normally but it is not active, Finder remains active despite running in the background. To make it active I have to click anywhere in the workspace or toolbars. Then, and only then, the ribbon shows QCAD Pro and Menus, etc. All other programs insta...

Re: How to use blocks

After creating some blocks and saved them into a file named as Block Template these blocks become available only when this same file is open in QCAD. They are saved therefore with that specific file. How can I save them into a LIBRARY so that they are always available whenever QCAD is being used reg...

Saving Dialog Box Warning

I keep getting the attached dialog box and it does not make sense to me. It seems to warn that it is saving in an older Autocad version format but I fail to understand why it comes up. Even if I save a file in R17 the next time I save the file again this dialog box appears again.

Thanks for your reply. Could you consider it as a future desirable feature?
Thanks also for the other answer. I will order QCAD Pro today.

Buying QCAD Pro & Upgrade Policy

I am planning to buy QCAD Pro to support your development work. What is your policy regarding upgrades? Will I have to pay for every upgrade?

Spline control arms

splineDegree=nControlPoints The spline degree is either 2 (quadratic spline) or 3 (cubic spline). Higher-degree splines exist but are not supported by QCAD or dxflib (and I've never encountered any spline curves with a higher degree than 3 in real life applications). However, what you might have re...

Re: No Dimension text

Dimension settings: To my knowledge there is no possibility given to get rid of the extension lines. But you can explode the dimension and delete the lines one at a time. Thanks Husky. That works though it can be tedious as it requires to freeze the layer containing the drawing's entities and then ...

Suppressing dimension lines

How to suppress dimension lines as in the example shown: I just want to show the angle (in red) and not the dimension reference lines also in red and superimposed on the black lines of the rectangle.
I tried looking into Preferences but could not see any option to omit these lines showing.
Thanks

Ah, I have seen the light! Easy now that you showed me. Yet I searched and searched; I guess I must be going blind. Thank you Husky, much appreciated.

How to use blocks

I am struggling with using the block feature in QCAD. I tried creating several blocks using the "Create Block from Selection" icon and naming it. But I have been unable to find how to insert such a block or edit it or do any other function with blocks. Perhaps the non-Pro version of QCAD does not su...

can formulae be entered in the command line?

I need to draw some geometric figure with a high precision and need to enter formulae in the command line. Does QCAD accept formulae entry and if so which ones? More specifically: is there a way of entering a distance as for example @rootx,0 or √x,0? In Autocad it was possible using Lisp. What about...
