Re: Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

I was still getting one segment that was wrong and caused the hatch not to save. I exploded everything, created polylines one letter at time, rehatched and it saved/reloaded properly.

Thanks.

Re: Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

I hear you, but logically if two endpoints snap together, "together" should imply the same exact coordinates regardless of scale, or anything else for that matter. I realize in a a programming context, 'exact' is rarely exact (floating point imprecision and all that), but... I don't know how Andrew ...

Re: Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

I'll take a look. What's strange is that when I created the logo, all the endpoints were snapped to each other. That's why I didn't suspect that as the cause (and also that it does hatch successfully, it just won't save).

Oh well...

Thanks.

Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

QCAD Pro 3.19.2, Xubuntu Linux 64-bit I made up a simple little title block with the CE and saved it as a DXF. It includes the QCAD logo, where QCAD.org is constructed from hatched (solid fill) geometry rather than simple lines. I later added a projection symbol with QCAD Pro (that edit has nothing ...

Re: Dimensioning: Changing lineweight and text independently from each other

Husky, you were right regarding the font choice. I changed the dimension label font to Arial, and now the text thickness doesn't change with the lineweight of the layer. Problem solved, although I'd love to hear from Andrew, how the font choice influences the appearance of the dimension label. The ...

Offline copy of reference manual?

This is a question, but if it's not available then it's a suggestion. Is the user reference manual available as a PDF or some other flat offline format? Having it as a compiled help file available from QCAD itself is great, but it would be very handy (to me at least) in a complementary sense ...

Text escape sequences not working - What am I missing?

QCAD Pro 3.19.2 on Linux I'm reading / working through the QCAD book and tried some text sequences. When I insert them with the property editor or dimension dialog fields, they work. However, if I try to put them in a text block or add them to a dimension after the fact, they're treated literally. F...

Re: Suggestion: Make command prompts visible for all items

Maybe it's a default color instead... If so I guess (?) we would need to know the proper selector name to specifically assign a color. But I'm no CSS expert.

Re: Suggestion: Make command prompts visible for all items

Yes, the tool tip pops up for me, too, and they look like your examples. I was referring to the (sometimes a little more verbose) description that shows up in place of the status bar at the bottom left when some of the buttons or menu items are hovered over.

Suggestion: Make command prompts visible for all items

When moving the mouse over a menu or toolbar button (without choosing anything), a brief description of each item is shown in place of the status bar at the bottom left of the screen. Well, almost... Only enabled options are shown - Those that are greyed-out don't have any description. It's n...

Re: Toolbar settings (only) don't persist across sessions

Config file? Yep. I wrote a customizable Perl script that nightly (in addition to other backups) gathers and stores a wide range of system configuration information, including some specific application directories / files. It's saved my bacon more than once (use it at work as well).

Thanks again.

Re: Toolbar settings (only) don't persist across sessions

I just upgraded to Pro today ... ... you must have done something right! Something like that, I guess. Terminating of QCAD will always save a new QCAD3.conf. I would assume it's a permission problem but you said read/write is proper set ... Well, now it finally worked... of course! I ...

[solved] Toolbar settings (only) don't persist across sessions

QCAD 3.19.2 Pro Xubuntu 16.04 Linux I can choose and arrange toolbars as I want without a problem, but when I restart QCAD it reverts to a previous layout. I tried it with and without a default template (wondering if toolbar settings were saved in / with that file, maybe?) but it made no difference....
