Re: Auto center function

I do that manually. I drew my section on a new layer, hoping this would do it, but auto center takes the whole drawing, even if everything else is masked. Let's keep that for a future edition, that is not critical!
Thanks for the comments.

Auto center function

When working on very large drawings I sometimes have to print only a small section. It would be handy to be able to have the option to apply the auto center function only to the said section.

layer color change

I have had the exact same behavior happen many times. Not sure yet with RC4 as it is still fairly recent. I noticed this problem mostly when working alternatively with ver2.2.2.0 and 3.

load and save problem

You are right, I had a backup of the original file created with ver 2.2.2.0 and trying "load" and "save as" without any changes to the drawing, produces the same error message. I am mailing the file "14mx_112s_68-6219.dxf", as it is before cleaning up. Thanks for your help.

Empty file after editing a drawing

I was editing, "cleaning" an old drawing, removing unused blocks and empty layers, but when I wanted to save the work I got a warning "null object ID" and my file was lost (0 kb), there was no way to save it, the only way to exit the loop is to discard changes on closing. I have had this problem bef...

I got some positive results with this batch file: @echo off path C:\Program Files (x86)\QCAD-3\qcad-3.0.0-rc3-prof-win32 qcad -exec ./template.js Windows did not like the "./" before qcad To get the cmd file to work I had to locate the file "template.js" on the desktop...I am not an expert with Wind...

start up template

Thanks for your quick reply. When I type the start up code in the command line, it is ver2.2.2 that gets launched, not 3.0
Is it possible to make a short cut in the traditional Windows way?

load default template

I need some help with scripting: I have made a drawing with a number of predefined layers that I use as a template for a new drawing. How can I replace the default drawing that is opened upon QCAD start-up with this template?

Divide a quadrilateral area into three equal portions

A fairly simple way to do that can be achieved with the tool "polygonal area", although not 100% accurate. first select "N points on a line"to localize the origin of your two dividing lines (N=4 in this case). mark the two points with a crossing line so they are better seen. Select "polygonal area t...

Win7 and block save

OK, thank for your answers, I'm not quite used to all the restrictions built in Win7, the permission change did the trick. I had figured the drag-drop feature from the file browser, what would have been more convenient is having the blocks show directly in the library window when you develop the tre...

Saving a bloc in library

It is not possible to save a drawing in the library to make blocs for future usage as we did in 2.2.2.0 Is that feature reserved for final release? Also, I have yet not found in QCAD3 the same convenient method existing in ver 2, to insert blocs from the library. The only option available is "open i...

copy-paste issue between ver3 and ver2.2

Working on win7-64. I have ver 2.2.2.0 and 3RC3 installed. Copy-paste does not work at all from 3 to 2.2.2.0.
The other way round, it works partially as I lose some of the selected entities in the paste operation. Could it be a consequence of not having used the installer of the programs?
