Hi again Christoph :) Just checked- it had something to do withthe 'regen all' command and then writing some blurb in the command line- which I can't remember- it was 3 years back when I had to do that last, so sorry. Did you know that you can run Q-Cad off a USB stick too? This is such a fantastic ...

Hi Christoph! Great stuff! Turbocad is a great program- another super bargain. The guy who wrote it is Tim Olson, who also wrote Concepts Unlimited. I've got something called ViaCAD ($99) as well- which is basically TurboCAD with a different name. Did you know that Olson has new product called...

Block data extraction needed in Q-Cad!
One of the most powerful features of AutoCAD is the ability to save blocks with 'hidden' information and bmp/jpeg files contained within them, and then being able to both re-import and export blocks so that a spreadsheet application such as MS Excel can be used to interpret the data- very useful for...

Hi Christoph. The problem with Autodesk is that they keep changing the goal posts, so to speak as far as importing DXF/ DWG files are concerned, making importing of ANY file made by any other application other than AutoCAD extremely difficult (fwiw, Inventor files won't open in AutoCAD either :shock...

BTW, I don't know what all this Fink stuff is. It seems that many people who go to Mac OS X, come to it thinking that it is another Linux derivative- which it is not. In fact it is even easier to use than Windows! Both my Father and my Brother came from Linux to Mac OS X, and although my Brother had...

Gmsh; Finite Element Analysis meshing generator (Free!)
I don't know how many people have seen or heard of Gmsh, but Gmsh is basically a freeware, multiplatform (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows etc) three-dimensional finite element mesh generator with built-in pre- and post-processing facilities. :!: Cool hey? Not only can one now Q-cad, but you can gmsh too! A...

QCad in Mac OS X Leopard working great!
Andrew,
I thought I'd just drop you a line to tell you that QCad (2.1.3.2) is working fine in Leopard.
That's all!

still can't fill in elipses
Andrew,
I was just trying out the latest demo, considering about updating, so I tried to see what updates had been made, howvever, I still can't seem to fill in (or hatch) an ellipse. Not too much of a problem, but I do need this occasionally, specially when doing cross sections.

Hurrah! (and hello :) )
Dear Andrew/ Ribbonsoft,
I'm new to this forum, but have been a paid-up QCad fan and user for almost 2 years now. QCad is awesome software
Big thumbs up for this new forum
I could never get the old one to work (yahoo), so this is great news.
Well done!
