Architectural symbols

Do you have a question you want to ask an existing QCAD user about QCAD and what you can do with it? Do you want to know if a particular feature exists? This is the place to ask.

Architectural symbols

Post by bakki » Fri Mar 07, 2008 11:02 pm

Hi,

I am trying out QCad both on Linux(community ed) and on Mac Leopard. I will be only using it on the Mac for production use. I use Sketchup for modelling. I am able to export views from Sketchup for dimensioning etc into QCad and print to an Epson wide format printer successfully. However some things I am missing are tabloid page templates(easily fixed with blocks) and various symbols for sections, true north etc. I downloaded the parts lib which does not have them. I know that all of these can be drawn from scratch but a library would be a real time saver.

Is there another symbols library? If not are there any other resources on the Net?

Thanks,

bakki

Look for collections or libraries of DXF files on the Internet. DXF is a widely accepted standard, so chances are good you will find something.
