Custom properties persistence

Post by narotu » Tue Jan 09, 2018 5:04 pm

Hi,

Please I have a question, are custom properties persistent ?
Through the post : https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=2544, it wroted : "XData support is experimental and therefore disabled by default. Custom properties that are attached to an entity are persistent (that means they are saved and can be read from DXF / DWG files).
"
But I use qcad 3.19 and after saving and reopening the document I don't find my custom properties attached to my entity, even with direct search in dxf file I don't find my custom properties.
(I work with enabling xdata, and I tried with qcad free and qcad pro).
Thanks in advance for your explanation.

Best regards
narotu

Custom properties are only supported in QCAD Professional. And only when saving through one of the Teigha based DXF/DWG formats (default).

You can test this using the property editor. Simply select an entity and add custom properties in the property editor:
