QCAD 3.16.3 has been released and the hatch from segments tool now uses the configured selection color to highlight segments.
Yes, thanks a lot. It's a great tool and now I can configure the colors like I want.

By the way, I got a problem with the mouse cursor when picking up a new color. The cursor gets lost (not displayed) and I've to leave QCAD to get it back.
My OS is macOS Sierra 10.12.2. Probably it's a problem with Qt and you cannot correct it, but you should know.

I love the new "Hatch from segment" tool. Works fine. Very useful.

But still... I would like to have a tool that allows hatching an area by just clicking on that area.

Please consider voting for this feature: Hatching with just one click.

Me too! :D
I was used to a hatch tool like that in a different CAD Software 30 years ago. It was just beautiful!

If I see the already existing scrips in QCAD with the new "Hatch from Segments" tool and the older "Select Contour" tool then I think it can't be that difficult to combine them to a "Hatch Area" tool which is able to follow an inside shape (maybe creating an temporary Hatch boundary?). Of course it need also the function to exclude entities (like inside circles etc) but the Hatch from Segment tool is already able to do so.
But I agree ..... that is the naive thinking of a non programmer mind!

Requested "Area Hatch" .....
One inside click = 1 click:

Requested "Area Hatch" .....
One inside click, two exclude clicks = 3 clicks:

Right now we need 10 clicks .... :(

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
