- 1. Create user template folder
2. Add path and default template to application preferences (File - Templates)
3. Exit Qcad to save preferences
4. Open Qcad
5. Close the default drawing "Untitled 1 - Qcad"
6. Start new drawing with New - From template
7. Here the dialogue opens but still points at the default application template folder
A) Automatically using the default drawing every time Qcad is started is not always what is needed although it is easy to close that drawing so perhaps not a major problem. What I. would like here is a choice to open the standard default template or the user template. If the default template drawing is not provided in step 2 above we are almost there. Opening Qcad goes to default application template but item B is still an issue
B) IMO it makes no sense for the New Drawing from Template dialogue to still default to the application default AFTER a user supplied template folder is added. I note that the user added folder does appear in the dropdown list.
I would prefer that either the user folder is at the top of the drop down list ie the default or a means of removing/hiding the application default. In the case that there are multiple user added folders then the order can be specified in the template dialogue.
I am using a Mac environment so I cannot access the Qcad application folders library files where I presume the configurations are kept
Thanks
