hash lines around a circle

Post by ov10fac » Thu May 05, 2016 2:54 pm

is there any easy way to put lines around a circle. What I need to do is put lines vertical to the circle ever 2 degrees. I can do it one at a time with the angle tool, but I was wondering if there is a faster way of doing this operation?

Thanks.

Without knowing exactly what you are trying to accomplish I would consider to use the "Move and rotate" or "Rotate two" tools.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Ok, Let me see if I can explain it a little better. If you look at an analog clock, around the outside diameter are lines. One for each minute and longer ones for hours. I want to do a similar thing. I just don't want to put each line on the face individually. I was thinking something like the parallel with distance tool. I can put any number of lines all equally spaced. I want to do the same thing except instead of being spaced laterally with inches, I want them to go radially with degrees.

Thank you.

The tool to use to create clock marks would be a simple rotation with multiple copies.
- Create one mark, for example at angle 0
- Select that mark
- Modify > Rotate
- Choose center, angle, number of copies, etc.

Sorry - this is only a german tutorial video - but maybe it will give you an idea how to handle a task like yours.

Thank you. The video was exactly what I was looking for. Including the auto trim facility.

Many thanks.
