Export to PS or EPS

Post by andrew » Tue Oct 04, 2016 11:56 am

From a QCAD user:
Can I create a PS (PostScript) or EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) file with QCAD?

Although QCAD does not directly export to PS or EPS, there are several ways to achieve this.

On all platforms:
- Create a PDF file with QCAD (File > PDF Export or "print" to PDF using the PDF export of the operating system).
- Use one of the many free convertor utilities or online services to convert PDF to PS or EPS

On Windows:
- There are printer drivers available that allow you to "print" to a PS file

On macOS:
- In the printer dialog choose the option "Save as PostScript" in the lower left corner to create a PS file, PS files can also easily be converted to EPS files

On Linux:
- PostScript files can usually be directly generated from the printer dialog by ticking an option "Save as PostScript" or similar. PS files can be converted to EPS files, for example using the command line tool ps2eps.
