I just found out that either the behavior of QCAD has changed due so some update (although I have missed the recent ones), or I have mis-adjusted some setting.
If I select and copy-paste a multi-layered part, or the whole page and then paste it with or without reference to the same page, or to an empty block as I do on a regular basis, the layers are all copied but are then converted and pasted to the same selected layer!
That behavior is highly undesirable, is it because of a messed-up setting? If so, I can't find it.

Uncheck "To current layer" when pasting:
Re: Arbitrary flatening of layers after copy
Thanks, I had to add that toolbar to adjust that setting, which is weird because I never had to do this before, but anyway, this and a couple of other toolbars are useful to add.
Re: Arbitrary flatening of layers after copy
The options toolbar should definitely always be on. It should actually come back on automatically whenever a tool such as paste is used (if you do happen to switch it off).

You're right, what is more weird is the fact that I never noticed it!andrew wrote:It should actually come back on automatically whenever a tool such as paste is used (if you do happen to switch it off).
(Apparently, after Ctrl+V I was always looking at the page).
