Simplifying many polylines to a few

Post by Bob2299 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 1:15 am

Hi, I am new to Qcad Pro and attempted to simplify a drawing that had many polyline segments (129).

I selected the drawing and used the simplify poly line command. The multiple poly lines reduced to a few. I saved the file as a DXF type.

I then opened the file in another program (BenCutLaser) and expected the file to open in the simplified version however it opened with the same numer of polyline segments as before (129).

Can someone explain how I can save the file in it's simplified version?

If I have used wrong terms please correct me.

Thanks,

Bob

Hello Bob - welcome to the forum.

That shouldn't be a problem ....

1. To have a closer look at the drawings: If not confidential could you please attach the original and the simplified dxf to the forum?
2. Is the BCL software able to read the actual R27 dxf Format?
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

It's extremely likely that there was simply a mixup with file names. Be sure to keep track of the file names you use. For example:
- Load file "myfile.dxf"
- Simplify the polylines, save as "myfile_simplified.dxf"
- Load file "myfile_simplified.dxf" with the other application
