Are there shortcut keys/combinations of keys to zoom in and out ?
Is it possible to either shift the drawing so as to bring another part of it within the window or to scroll automatically when you are selecting a point ?
These are related operations - it is a little long winded to zoom in and then re-focus on that part of the drawing that you want to work on by shifting with the sliders.
Is it possible to select an item and then rotate it about a point to a position snapped onto another line/intersection. ?
Shortcut keys for zoom/drag the drawing within the window/rotate selection and snap to a point or line

Zoom In
Zoom Out
You can pan using the middle mouse button (press, drag, release). You can zoom to a selection using Zoom to Selectionbluerm166 wrote:Is it possible to either shift the drawing so as to bring another part of it within the window or to scroll automatically when you are selecting a point ?
You most likely missed panning (middle mouse button or Ctrl (Command) + left mouse button if you don't have a middle mouse button.bluerm166 wrote:These are related operations - it is a little long winded to zoom in and then re-focus on that part of the drawing that you want to work on by shifting with the sliders.
You can also save views using View > Add View. Use the view list (View > View List) to quickly restore a view.
You can likely achieve this using Modify > Rotate with an angle specified by mouse cursor.bluerm166 wrote:Is it possible to select an item and then rotate it about a point to a position snapped onto another line/intersection. ?
