Zooming in / out using the mouse wheel is too fast, how can I adjust it?

You can adjust the mouse wheel zoom in / out speed under:
Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Navigation
If zooming is much too fast, set it to something closer to 1, for example 1.02 instead of 1.2.
Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Navigation
