[SOLVED] Dimensioning

Post by FBMeca » Mon Apr 06, 2020 11:58 am

Hello,

Please excuse me if my question is redundant. Also, QCAD is a really great program, thanks !
I've got a small problem about the values when I dimension my object. It is very small, and I haven't found any way to change the size of the text of these values. I think it is due to the fact that I've got a scale of 1:1, but I thought it didn't matter if I could just the size manually.

Could someone help me?

Thanks a lot in advance, and stay safe :)

It's under:

Edit > Drawing Preferences > Dimensions > Dimension Settings:

^^^^Above ^^^^
Is for the current drawing.
Menu..Edit..Drawing Preferences (Ctrl+I)

The same can be set for all new drawings.
Menu..Edit..Application Preferences (Ctrl+,)
The red text in the header is self explanatory.

Thanks a lot for your help, I had tried that out, but now it works !

Just another question : is it possible to choose the size of the dimensions for each dimension one by one ? Or would I have to change the preferences each time I put a dimension ?

If it's not possible, it's understandable, because it's not really common to change the size on one single drawing...

Thanks a lot for your help, it's all clear now.

Another small question I just encountered : are there some tools to put some colors or for example darken some figures on my drawing ? For example if i draw a circle, and I want to put the whole circle (also the inside) in black (or some other color) ?

Sorry if I'm asking without managing to find the answer, if there is a topic that answers this i'll just look at it :)

Cheers!

That would be yet another question in this topic.
Pls read the forum rules at the top.

Look for hatch, hatching, solid fill (also a hatch).
Best done on a seperate layer, they tend to get in the way of selections.
In combination with custom colors.

CVH.

Thanks for your help. I tried hatching, and saw the "hatch pattern", which looked very good.

Only problem is that I don't understand how it actually works ? For the complete filling I just clicked on the circle beforehand, and it worked, but with the "hatch pattern" it didn't work.

How am I supposed to do it ?

Sorry for not creating a new thread, I think it isn't worth it. Correct me if I'm wrong :)
