Post by elewayne » Wed Jul 15, 2020 5:51 am

On my tool bar under the words Modify snap info layer my tool bar is blank. but most views I see of the screen there is stuff there. what is that group called and how do I get it on the tool bar. there should be a red back arrow there .I think its a back arrow.

Hi,

Do you mean that there is no dropdown for Modify / Info / Layer ...

May I Ask what OS?

The second bar right under file and edit I have
New page. open file, save, save as, and print preview. then that bar is blank all the way over to the red pencil, what ever that is. there should be stuff there including that red arrow, which i suspect is the back arrow to erase the last step taken, right?
I have Q cad professional, if that's what you were asking.

I think a screenshot would be handy in that case.

Otherwise, reset:

Okay thanks. Ive wondered if I should do that anyway. I have a number of little glitgy things happening. Like I have a real hard time getting the green pick arrow back after I do an operation. And sometimes I cant get the keyboard to put numbers in the boxes if I want to off set something. I have to go to the box and put the take out the existing number then hand enter an new number. It stops being automatic. then it will just come back at some point and be just fine. The program seems a bit unstable at times. Don't get me wrong, I like the program though. and I'm getting used to it.

There where other bar and menu issues recently.
With one kind of Operation System, Linux mint I think it was.
When your question is not of a more general kind the issues could be related to:
Operating system, QCAD version or drawing files.
So, pls read the 'Forum rules' at the top of this topic.

Left high: 'Reset' or type QQ

the green pick arrow
Preformed any customization? Mine is always white. :?
That are the only things you loose with resetting your configuration apart from most, if ever used parameter.
From what I read that is still the best way to try to solve a lot of your issues.
A full clean install and a reset would even be better. Only takes about 15 minutes.

Just select the box and enter a new value, no? There are shortcuts key-ins to navigate to boxes, command line, ...

That ain't right. :!:
Lagging in some very specific cases, yes, being unstable never occurred to me.
Even if the lag was 12minutes long. :)
Ok, once, reported how it crashed, the bug was resolved in hours.

Give it a try and reset your config.
Otherwise do a clean install.
