How can I convert TrueType text into its geometry or coordinates for example for further processing?

QCAD supports TrueType fonts natively. You can use any system-wide installed font to create texts in QCAD.
One way to extract the geometry of the glyphs of text is to explode the text entity using Modify > Explode. By default, this creates polylines for the outline of the text. Depending on the format of the text, you might have to explode twice to go from a formatted text to simple text blocks and then polylines.
This example shows a text entity at the top and the exploded polylines at the bottom: These polylines are often more suitable for further processing (further modifications or CAM) than text.
