Isometric

Post by ross » Tue Jun 28, 2022 6:12 am

Hi

Mac--Monterey-12.4 Qcad pro 3.26.2

Can I get an isometric drawing from an existing 2 d drawing without having to draw the whole item in isometric.

Thanks

Ross

Yes, QCAD can help you to project each face of an existing drawing into an isometry. But it isn't a full automatic projection - QCAD needs still your help ...

To get a feeling for the tool select a face like a frontview and launch the isometry tool below Menu / Modify / Projection / Isometry Projection. Keep an eye on the option bar - I assume it is intuitive ...
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro

Hi--Thanks----very clever.

Maybe asking a lot now--can I give it a thickness to make it 3d or does this need to be drawn in as an addition.

Thanks again--Ross

No, QCAD is a 2D program. To do some 3D work you need a 3D program ...
