[Solved] Missing some elements in paper space
Just upgraded to:
QCAD/CAM 3.27.0.0 (3.27.0), running on Linux -4 5.15.0-051500-generic from 3.26.4
On an (existing) drawing I cannot see the viewport boundary anymore (in layer viewports, still can select it) nor do the dimension values show up on paperspace, except when I draw the dimension directly in paperspace. I copied part to a new drawing (attached), same effect.
I guess there are some setting differences between 3.26.4 and 3.27.0? Tried a few, but no difference.
Rob

Re: Missing some elements in paper space
Your viewport layer is set to not be plottable, so this would probably mean the "Show only plottable layers" option is checked under Edit>Application Preferences>File>Print Preview. I don't know why that would change when you upgraded versions but this option seems like the most likely cause.

Re: Missing some elements in paper space
As far as the dimension text, it appears for me that the text appears and disappears based on your zoom level. But I'm not sure if that is what is happening on your end since it looks like I don't have the same font you're using installed on my computer and I've noticed some fonts will appear and disappear as you zoom in and out.

ryancousins,
Thanks, that solved the problems. I had a few other settings to change, but all manageable. At least now I can start drilling holes

Maybe I spoke to quickly...
The dimension values show nicely on the print preview, but when I got the paper from the printer, they are not printed, and the M5 marker has moved to the bottom. Feel free to try a print...

Went back to 3.26.4, same file, came up at open. There the dimension values print fine, and the 'M5' did not move.
The font I use id thin, maybe too thin for 27?
Anyway, I stay with 3.26.4 fo now.

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space
I see what you mean. I'm noticing that if I make the viewport layer plottable, the dimension text will show up. I'm not sure why this is the case. I will keep playing around with it. My usual assumption (which is correct most of the time) is that I'm overlooking something incredibly simple and obvious. But perhaps it could also be a bug?

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space
As a possible workaround if you still wanted to use 3.27, if you just plan on putting the entire model on your paper, you could select the entire model, then make it a block, then place the block onto the paper. This appears to preserve the dimension text.

Sure, I am familiar with that, I am very good in missing simple things
No immediate need for 2.7.
I'll be happy to help but I just got this huge pile of stepper motors, aluminium profile and linear bearings, which I love to screw together.

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space
That sounds like fun!
I'm finding that when I switch the dimension and the "M5" text font to a built-in QCAD font, such as "standard", the problem goes away. I'm assuming there is some issue with Truetype fonts. I will create a bug report.

Re: [Solved] Missing some elements in paper space
It looks like it has already been fixed. So the next release will not have this issue.
