[solved] Qcad crashing when trying to find anchorage

Post by Gotfried » Tue Nov 01, 2016 1:02 pm

I've been using Qcad seamlessly for years, but just today I ran across that weird problem that never had happened before, and I cannot understand.

I had just been casually tinkering with a design, doing all my usual stuff, when all of a sudden Qcad crashed when I tried to draw a simple two points line. I opened the backup file, tried again, crash. And again. And again. I came to notice that the crash happened exactly when, after selecting the two points line drawing tool, I was approaching a very specific point in my sketch, and that very particular one only, and Qcad was normally trying to find an anchorage there. As soon as I disabled all anchorage, crashing stopped. That point is the end of a two points short straight line.

This all seems pretty unexplainable to me. I'm trying to find a trick to bypass that problem, but so far it keeps crashing. Do you have any clue?

Thanks. I'm unable to reproduce the problem here.

Please provide some more details:
- indicate the operating system you are using and the version thereof
- indicate the exact version of QCAD you are using (see Help > About or QCAD > About QCAD

Thanks.

I'm not hugely surprised you can't reproduce it. It's the first time it happens in years. Very odd.
My system is Debian 8.6, and the exact version of QCAD I'm using is 3.11.3.0. Hope It helps

Could you please update to the latest QCAD version (3.15.5) using your personal download link that was sent to you after your last purchase of an update? I will also forward that mail to you again.
