Change To Themes

Post by jdi000 » Sun Sep 20, 2020 5:17 pm

Hello

Seems to be a change in how themes operate in the newer version of QCAD. Just updated to 3.25.2.

Can someone please verify that the Theme changes seem to have moved to a dll plugin file and no exposed css with all the properties of the page. Does the remaining css file override any properties if changes are added? Its hard to know the specific properties since all are in a dll file now. Is this a permanent change on how themes will operate?

Thanks
Jason

The dark theme (Windows / Linux) is now implemented mostly through palette changes instead of stylesheets. Stylesheets have the disadvantage that changing one single style can change the appearance of a widget completely. It looks like some widgets are rendered by Qt instead of the system as soon as there's a style attached.

If you prefer a style based theme, you can of course still create your own theme and use exclusively styles to change the appearance. A plugin is not a requirement for a QCAD theme.
