Re: Not copying a layer
Nice job Andrew. That wasn't easy and as often, the problem is in front of the screen.
Ich will nicht streiten. Ich will nur deutlich machen, dass ich Recht habe und DU NICHT.
Re: Not copying a layer
Hi
How can you avoid making this mistake again, my interpretation is that an object has been created, the line but not given a value for it's length property and in doing so it causes these issues. Can you explain a little further please as I cannot be the only one who can make this mistake.
thanks Roy

Re: Not copying a layer
Hi,
Some methods return Null length entities.
It was the first thing I looked for!
Cutting, trimming .... some do, in certain cases, most don't.
Explained as intended behavior.
It will serve someone somehow.
Less every few application updates ...
If you detect such from a certain method, but consider it as a BUG then filing a detailed bug report is advised.
Menu > Modify > Detection > Detect Null Length Entities (MZ)
There are also methods that might return Null-entities.
Less every few application updates ...
These entities, one can't select at all
After file Save/Revert these are located at the origin as zero length entities.
Fuzzy that all the block entity area (including the zero ) must be selected.
Only the Block reference point would be enough ....

CVH

Re: Not copying a layer
Hi
Thanks for that feedback, I have never ventured down that path but having now read that part of the manual it makes sense, a means to cleanup a drawing. I am progressing slowly with Qcad and having great success with being productive but I do realise that there are going to be more efficient ways of doing some of the things I currently do. In the Modify menu it is the copy/move and trim that I use most but I can see others I need to get familiar with.
I will now close this issue and take it as a good lesason learned.
