OS: Windows 10 Pro
QCAD: 3.26.4.0 (3.26.4) Build date: June 4, 2021
Bolded fonts appear normal until the zoom level is increased sufficiently
Linetypes on curved lines, which used to display without problem now require excessive zooming to appear correctly.
Creating a PDF however shows the fonts and linetypes correctly. The problem is for the darftsman to know whether or not he has correctly changed the font or linetype to that which he desired
Could this be related to https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=8458 ?

The font problem seems to be related to Windows and the Qt version we use.CerpherJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 7:32 pmBolded fonts appear normal until the zoom level is increased sufficiently
You might want to switch to path based font rendering under:
Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Text Rendering > Render text as paths
This might be slightly slower but seems to be also more precise under Windows.

Re: Extra zooming required to see font attributes, linetypes on curves
Andrew, thanks for the quick response. QCAD software and the support provided are world-class excellent!
I was not able to get benefit from adjusting the linetype scaling to 10, 100, 1000, 10,000. I did set the auto-switch for linetypes - thanks for that.
The 'text as paths' left rectangular boxes at low zooming but the behavior was the same: zooming will bring the correct font style into view. So, I'll stick with text as text.
Note that this was not an issue in my previous version: 3.22.1. Perhaps since that time though (May, 2019) the QCAD distribution has included several newer Qt versions and it could be hard to track down ...
Thanks!
Joe

Re: Extra zooming required to see font attributes, linetypes on curves
@Andrew,
I checked that setting on my Win10/64 QCAD Version 3.26.4.0 - unfortunately it shows no improvements.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Correct, intended and configurable under Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Appearance > Text height thresholdCerpherJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 10:33 pmThe 'text as paths' left rectangular boxes at low zooming
That seems odd. If text is rendered as paths, the paths are computed at a fixed size and displayed as polygons.CerpherJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 10:33 pmbut the behavior was the same: zooming will bring the correct font style into view. So, I'll stick with text as text.
Can you maybe include a screenshot of how texts look like when zoomed in / out?
It's also not reproducible here on any of our systems. Unless I'm looking for the wrong thing. Hence, a screenshot might help.CerpherJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 10:33 pmNote that this was not an issue in my previous version: 3.22.1.
