I imported from a colleague a "uni-polar switch block " that has a text attribute linked to it (L4).
If I select the graphical switch, the text (L4) get selected too.
If I move the switch once selected, the text (L4) attribute will follow.
BUT
I tried to create a "multipolar switch" in QCAD ....as in the test file, I cannot get the same result...
I went in Block-Attirbutes-Define, and then created the text attribute ( circuito)
Unfortunately, it will not be selected when i select the symbol;
and the text label will not follow the symbol if the symbol is moved....
Even double clicking onto the text attribute shows a different Dialog, compared to the dialog that appears if I double click the text in the imported block...
How can I reach the SAME text attribute behavior as the first block example (unipolar switch) ?

Re: Block and text attribute
If the block int_monopolare is already working as desired why not just use it as source for the new int_bipolare block?Giuliano69 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 4:47 pmHow can I reach the SAME text attribute behavior as the first block example (unipolar switch) ?
Block list,
right click on "int_monopolare",
duplicate block,
select block copy in block list,
edit block for the new purpose,
use it in Model_Space ...

Re: Block and text attribute
Thanks Husky for your kind reply
BUT I see that when I duplicate it (BY) , even without modifying the element,
and then paste it again in the drawing (BI),
the text attribute is LOST...
Notice that if you try to edit the copied block, the text attribute is still present, but not displayed correctly when outside of edit block mode...
The strange thing is that Qcad is managing in someway the block with a text attribute created by another program,
but it seems not capable of creating a new one by itself.
Is there a way to create a similar block with text attribute ?

Re: Block and text attribute
During the inserting process a dialog pops up which has to be filled with the text info. Did you do that?Giuliano69 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:36 amBUT I see that when I duplicate it (BY) , even without modifying the element,

This example is done based on my previos explanation. Would that work for you?Giuliano69 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:36 amThe strange thing is that Qcad is managing in someway the block with a text attribute created by another program,

Re: Block and text attribute
Thanks Husky .. it WORKS !
I did not noticed the entry field that is activated during block insertion (
Anyway I noticed a strange behavior: when you duplicate the block, the predefined attribute value is NOT duplicated... it is empty.
This was the reason because the attribute is not displayed... the string is empty.
Should this behavior (partial duplicating) considered something to fix ?

Re: Block and text attribute
By the way...
The "duplicate and modify" is a workaround....
do you know any other way that make Qcad capable of creating such a block by itself, without basing on an object created with another program ?

Re: Block and text attribute
Certainly. Create a new block, switch to edit content of selected block, draw what ever is needed in that block, add Block Attributes with Menu / Block / Attributes / Define Block Attribute.Giuliano69 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 9:29 am... do you know any other way that make Qcad capable of creating such a block by itself, without basing on an object created with another program ?
