Qcad has started displaying and printing circles as polygons (hexagons, usually) in layout blocks and when printing, but they show fine in model space.
I can't find any setting pertaining to the resolution of circles. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm in draft mode or not.

Re: QCAD printing Circles as polygons but displaying as circles in model space
To help you efficient we need to see the drawing (dwg or dxf). Please attache the drawing to your post and we will take it from there ...

Re: QCAD printing Circles as polygons but displaying as circles in model space
Never mind - I'm able to reproduce the issue in Version 3.27.1. Version 3.26.0 works as expected. Looks to me that has something to do with the Viewport scale ...
Thanks for reportings this!

Re: QCAD printing Circles as polygons but displaying as circles in model space
reset ini file, started some new files to see what would happen.
I am wondering if this may have something to do with having done a copy with reference from one file to another? Or rescaling?
Nevertheless once one of these older files starts doing the drunken hexagonal circles, new circles seem to also be hexagons.

Re: QCAD printing Circles as polygons but displaying as circles in model space
Thanks for the drawings.
I Tested it in Version 3.27.1. and Version 3.26.0. There is definitive a different behavior. The older QCAD version is able to display the circle correctly in Paper_Space.
However, I'm not sure if that is a bug in QCAD or you just hit unknowingly a new threshold in QCAD based on your drawing habits. I looked into your drawings and I was very confused how you work with scales to represent a viewport or print a page. In one example the Viewport is scaled up 16786.01 times and the print page is scaled down to 0.0000615. This example shows also the circle issue and a text problem! In my understanding a schematic doesn't needs a scale - just bring it nice on paper. What means if I change the print scale to 1"=1" and the Viewport to 1 then I have nice circles AND I can read all the text in Paper_Space and/or printed on a piece of paper ...
3.27.1. Version
BUT .... your scales in QCAD Version: 3.26.0
I still recommend to file a bugreport even if it is just to figured out how much of that behavior in QCAD is considered as expected.

Re: QCAD printing Circles as polygons but displaying as circles in model space
Hi,
Came to the same conclusions as Husky about the scaling.
e.g. <woto for lance dicken.dxf> ... Paper_Space0 ... 12816 feet wide
For something that is drawn about 7 feet wide.
The most strange thing for me is that I sometimes see both circles and 'hexagons'.
That is, as long as the cursor is over the Block List.
I have no unreadable text but my preference is to render text as text.
I get the mentioned placeholders when I set it to render as paths.
Several text entities have odd double scaling settings (+ double font settings).
I presume that the drawing is created with many Copy/Paste/Scale operations.
For Line type scaling of dashed lines there is something off too.
e.g. <woto for lance dicken.dxf> ... Paper_Space2 looks like all solid lines.
You mention that the dwg 'shows OK' but loading here they both have the 'drunken hexagonal circles'.
This is definitely a scaling issue, circles/arcs are rendered interpolated by line segments.
Only here (and recently), the odd scaling messes with the angle steps.
The <woto for lance dicken.dxf> throws a warning on Autosave:
Exception occurred. Entity NOT saved: 5c0
Can't locate it in the drawing.
Reading the dxf textual: Seems to be a Viewport on layer 'cb panel xx'.
I count 7 'AcDbViewport' in the dxf, the drawing has 3 paper spaces with each 1 viewport.
Regards,
CVH
