printing

Post by jhaskins20018 » Tue Jul 12, 2022 11:33 pm

I am having a problem with printing as the drawings I make show as Blank when I hit the print now button and strangely the print preview and Print icons looked to be grayed out in the command line. I am using the Qcad Pro Version on Windows 10 64 Bit. Is the print option denied in the unpaid version

Did you check the print tutorial?

https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-printing
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Hi,
You posted this in the 'QCAD Professional Version' forum.
Are you using the trial version?
If you are using the unpaid version with the trials removed you should have posted this in the 'QCAD Community Edition' forum.

QCAD Features that are supported for PRO or CE are listed here:
https://qcad.org/en/documentation/features

So 'Print Preview', 'Print' and 'Print Current View' should be listed in the File Menu.
Normally only 'Print Preview' is listed in the File Toolbar.
There are no print icons listed in the Command Line.
I don't know of a 'Print Now' button.
There is the 'Print ...' button in the 'Print Preview' Toolbar what essentially is the 'Print' command again.

Agreed that the print icons look fainted, the printer shape itself is light gray.
Grayed out would mean that there is no blue magnifying glass in 'Print Preview' or a blue screen in 'Print Current View'.

Simply try the schortcut Ctrl+Shift+P ...
... An additional Toolbar should show, starting with 'Close Print Preview' and ending in 'Drawing Preferences' ...
... Is your design within the white rectangle representing the paper? (White or any other paper color that you have set)
What is on a gray background is outside the paper.
In that case you should adapt the printing scale and positioning.

Another possibility is that your layers have the option plottable set to no.
Or that the color adjustment doesn't prevent white on a white background.

It seems that you posted similar topics since Wed Feb 02, 2022 ...
In all cases we could help you better with an example drawing  (Also see forum rules).

Regards,
CVH
