Extremely poor performance

Post by Metsavana » Thu Oct 06, 2022 1:15 pm

Hello everyone! I am new to QCAD and I have a problem with opening DXF drawing (R15 format). They were presumably made with AutoCAD. I know that the file size isn't the smallest one, but I had no troubles opening it with eDrawings (drawings viewer by Dassault). I tried to open some smaller drawings and they seemed to be fine, however there still were some errors about unsupported XData types.

OS: Windows 11 Pro 22H2
Processor: Intel i7-10850H
GPU: Nvidia Quadro T2000
iGPU: Intel UHD
QCAD version: QCAD 3.27.7 / Windows x86_64

The issue
Launch QCAD > File > Open > 1399089.dxf
Fans start to spin quite rapidly for a few seconds and then return to normal speeds. The program is not responding for approximately 4-5 minutes but eventually opens the drawing. Every time I try to pan the view, select lines, click on blocks or elements, or really do anything at all the program stops responding for a minute or so. Then it unfreezes and if I do something it freezes over and over again.

I can confirm that QCAD was not designed for such complex drawings. Please e-mail me for a refund.
