Which MacOS M1 verision to install

Post by franksbedford » Fri Jul 28, 2023 8:50 am

Hey all,

Just bought Qcad professional. Lots to do!

Which version of MacOS M1 should I install. I have a MacBook Air M1. I will upgrade in the fall to M2 (or whatever they are selling).

Do I want/need Qt6? I don't know what it us.

Thanks for the input!

Yes, I would recommend installing the Qt 6 package as it fixes some problems on M1/M2 CPUs.

If you have a multi-screen setup you might experience crashes when disconnecting / reconnecting screens. If you absolutely need do that a lot, better install the Qt 5 package.

No multi-screen At least no yet. So Qt6 it is. Thanks.

How do I check for ongoing updates? Is there auto-update notification?
