Tracking down weird text formatting: use "simple text"

I had some formatting that was just a bit off, could not get it right.
Low and behold:

If you select "[x] Simple text" all the formatting commands become visible and editable, and nothing is lost.
I removed the offending formatting command and poof it worked.

Thanks for sharing your method.

Although this is not common practice, there is no need to force the text to simple.

In the Text Editor dialog select the source tab for editing the text source, see left lower corner of text preview area.
The text property in the Property Editor will also show this text string when the text is selected.
