Text alignment base vs bottom

Post by andrew » Thu Apr 28, 2016 8:12 am

Text entities can be vertically aligned to the top, middle, base or bottom.

Base and bottom alignments only have a visibly different effect on simple texts.

Simple texts are single line texts without any formatting (text option Simple text checked):

For simple texts, base aligns to the base line, the line on which a capital A is typically standing. Bottom aligns to the bottom border of the bounding box.

For non-simple (aka multi-line) texts or MTEXT, base and bottom both align to the bottom border of the bounding box.
