QCAD 2.2.2.1 does not support jpg files??

Post by venkatkoka » Tue Mar 15, 2011 7:33 am

Hello,

I recently installed QCAD 2.2.2.1 and found out that I cannot select or view the inserted jpg files with the older version QCAD 2.2.2.0. I simply have the problem that some of the files including jpg images created using QCAD 2.2.2.0 are not anymore visible, I can see only a red line of the border when I move the mouse over the image.

Can you please give a suggestion to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Could it be that you have accidentally switched to Draft mode (View - Draft)?

No, I have "Grid" activated. One more observation was, when I try to import pictures through navigation pop-up, In the pop-up I dont find the the "File type" jpg but I can select bmp, png,... Although I can find the jpg files under "All files". After embedding jpg I do not see any picture but when I import a bmp or png I can see the picture.

Was there a specific reason for updating to QCAD 2.2.2.1?

If QCAD 2.2.2.0 works for you, this is still the recommended version. The problem is that we had to update an underlying library (Qt) to fix a file dialog problem with some Windows / Mac installations. However, the new Qt version meant also that we had to disable some features and JPEG support seems to be among them.

I have reinstalled the older version now. Now I understand the problem... I suppose with the release of the next version this function will be enabled again...
