Invalid or incomplete DXF format when opening in AutoCAD

Post by bluequad » Wed Jul 06, 2011 5:19 pm

PC with Vista Home Premium running QCAD version 2.2.2.1

Only very simple drawings seem to open in AutoCAD and it is necessary to change all the layers to white when in AutoCAD. Also the only succesful font is Cursive when translated.

More complex drawings with drawing sheets etc,. do not open and generate the message 'Invalid or incomplete DXF format'.

As I need to send my drawings to others in DXF format, so that they can superimpose other information, how can this problem be overcome?

QCAD 3 (currently release candidate 5) improves file format compatibility and also lets you export to various older versions of DXF to target a specific version of Autocad. TrueType fonts are also supported.
