Right mouse button click functions. (solved.)
I am just starting to use QCad and so far find it very good!
Last night, I accidentally enabled a right mouse button click on the drawing field which enabled and disabled a pointer function. It was either the standard arrow or alternatively, a magnifying symbol.
Can someone tell me where to find this again please?

Re: Right mouse button click functions.
Hi Jim.Thompson,
If yes that is the Zoom > Window Zoom to create a zoom corresponding to a mouse created rectangle in the drawing.
One of many posibilitys to launch this tool is with a right mouse click on an entity in your drawing ...
... it will open a context menu and you can pick with the left mouse button what ever you need
Edit:
Uups - I forgot: The right click menu is a tool history which will list used tools in that particular session. Wasn't the tool used before .... you will not find it!
Was the pointer like this one?Jim.Thompson wrote:It was either the standard arrow or alternatively, a magnifying symbol.

Ok, I think I understand. So, if I open a new drawing and activate that function, I might see again as available? Have I understood correctly?Edit:

Re: Right mouse button click functions.
I have just opened a new file and drawing to test this. I still cannot find the right click options you show above Husky. I did have it once before, but cannot get it to activate with a right click on the drawing.
Re: Right mouse button click functions.
Hi,
step by step:
Open QCad as the Pro trial (Community Edition has not this feature!),
draw a line,
Launch via the Menu / View / Zoom the "Window Zoom" and use it or break it up - doesn't matter,
now the Window Zoom was used and will be listed in the right click menu,
move your mouse ON an entity and click then the right button. Note: Right button in an empty drawing area will not work.
Now you should see this Zoom Window tool listed in the context menu.
Try it and keep us posted how it works.

Re: Right mouse button click functions.
Ok, got that thanks Husky. I will give it a try.
edit:
I did try it according to your instructions, but could not get it to work.
I suspect it because I don't know how to do the first step.
How do I achieve the first step?

You have the Trial QCad Version? Just open it and it will run for approx. 15 min as a Pro (Test) Version.Jim.Thompson wrote:I suspect it because I don't know how to do the first step.

Edit:
If you are still not able to see the Context Menu check the "Application Preferences" below Menu / Edit

Re: Right mouse button click functions.
Thanks for the additional information Husky. I was beginning to think this was on it's way to becoming yet another "stalled thread" due to me not knowing what you clearly do! (I have one or two of them outstanding on the Mint forums). I am sensitive about asking for what clearly is, at times, too much assistance with a beginners problems. I can fully understand experts becoming exasperated with my level of questions.
Please note: I have only made 13 posts on these forums so far, and have only had Qcad installed for less then a couple of days. In other words, I am a raw beginner.
Anyway, back to the problem at hand.
I appear to have a different version installed or:
I am looking in the wrong place completely. This is what is displayed in what I know as "application preferences":

Ok Husky, I have noted all that.
Thanks again.
What should I do with this thread now? Mark it as solved?
Jim.

You are welcome. Is it solved - mark it as solved. If not - keep going or leave it as it is.Jim.Thompson wrote:Ok Husky, I have noted all that.
