Minimal Hardware for Current Version

Post by ubiquity » Sat Sep 30, 2017 4:48 pm

Hello,
I am considering running basic CAD training using QCAD Community Edition for fellow members of a non-profit organisation who are interested in the topic of CAD/CAM and CG generally. It is not anticipated that the training will become particularly complex and, as we only have access to second hand machines to run the training sessions I should like to know the current minimum hardware requirements for performing basic operations up to and including things like chamfers. In particular I should like to know the minimums for CPU, RAM and graphics so I can determine which, if any of our existing (Windows or Linux based) machines are suitable.
The intention is that in using Open Source software they will be able to transfer skills acquired in the classes in their home situation to undertake further practice prior to deciding what software will ultimately suit their situation best.

Regards

Paul
