Some detached widgets not possible to hide

Post by massimo » Mon Jan 22, 2018 11:47 am

Hello,

I have built QCad on Linux, running in a Xfce window manager.
As QCad has no multiscreen support and does not support detaching tabs (viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4741), I detached all widgets from the main windows and stacked those widgets on a separate screen, having one screen for the main window with tabs only.

However these detached widgets have different behaviour concerning the window manager. They have no decoration, no item in the windows-list. This is ok, but it is not possible to hide the widgets. For instance, when minimizing the main window, the widgets stay on top. And even worse, when switching to a different virtual desktop, the widgets are visible on all virtual desktops on top and not possible to hide.
More weird this does not apply to all widgets, for instance it does not apply to the blocklist or the big tool matrix, but the small tool widget and the selector widget to hide/unhide the other widgets, those 2 are always visible.

Then what is also confusing:

Hiding the main window does hide Layers and Log widget, but does not hide the tool matrix, the layer list and the blocklist.
