How to add nodes?

Post by Kylerg3077 » Wed Dec 01, 2021 3:37 am

How do you add nodes with the free version of QCAD? Or is it not necessary to have more than more nodes on a circle when you are going to have it cnc plasma cut? Thanks

Hi,
you posted this on the "QCAD Professional" forum.

Please use the "QCAD Community Edition" when you use the free CE version.

The so called nodes when you select a circle entity are called reference points that can be used for snapping.
4 little squares on the exterior and a round one at the center point.

Depends mostly on the CNC hardware.
Many support circles or full arcs, most 2 semi circles, some require 1/4 circular arcs.
Only when G2/G3 is not supported, it is necessary to interpolate arcs/circles with line segments.

In fact, it is the CAM side that has to deal with that.
From the CAD perspective, circles are fine as they are.
