Using Snap Restrictions

Post by Wayne N » Fri Apr 12, 2024 1:22 am

I am using QCAD 3.29.6 64 bit on Windows 11 with my Toshiba laptop.

I am new to QCAd and am working my way through the Manual.
On page 57 it says that the snap restriction icons are located at the bottom of the snap toolbar.

As can be seen on the attached screenshot, the snap restriction icons are not accessible on my computer, you can just see the top of two of them. Is there any way I can access these icons? Am I limited to only using the snap menu at the top of the screen (not shown)?

Thank you for your response.

Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.
Seemingly there is no vertical scrollbar for the CAD Tools toolbar (widget).
One might consider that as a shortcoming.

On the other hand your icons all look rather large.
What are the preferences for Applications Preferences .. General .. User Interface?

For the size of the buttons/icons:
See Applications Preferences .. Widgets .. CAD Toolbar.
One could set more than 2 columns or decrease the button/icon size what is 28px by default.
Other preferences can be found under .. Widgets .. Tool Matrix and .. Widgets .. Toolbars (24px by default).

Another option is to display your Snap toolbar at the top, see:
Menu View .. Toolbar and Widgets .. Toolbars .. Snap.
That won't override the fact that the CAD Tools toolbar is replaced by the snapping tools when required.

Thank you. I reduced the icon size from 32 to 16px and now all the icons are available.
At 24px I was still missing the last icon "Lock Snap".
I may try 3 rows instead of two. The icons are quite small at 16px.

Wondering what the toolbar icon size is in your case and how many horizontal toolbars there are ...
16px would be the default size of the menu icons. :?
Could you share a full screen capture?
