Hi Husky,
I would be glad to attach the drawing, but
I always have a problem with that. A few
instruction on how to do that would be helpful
or point me to the doc that tells how. Would you
like a before and after drawing before I select
print preview? Thanks for the help.

I hope you got them all. there should be 3 file.
1 before i select print, 1 after i select print and
1 that sows the the effect of zooming.
OS is linuxmint, current version of Qcad on

Hi Husky,
I change some print parameters and that seem
to stop the construction lines from becoming
invisible. Can you tell me how the x and y offset works
for setting print parameters?

Hi Waye - thanks for the test dxf,

The Print preview isn't working weird - it is just doing what you told QCAD.
The Lines are not disappeared - there are only extremely tiny because of your settings and you are now in an extreme zoom. Check it out: Load the drawing - click the Print Preview and you will see ONLY the grid (what you told us). Now use the zoom and zoom out and out and out until you are able to see the whole page. Now compare the size of your drawing to the page size ...

Here are your drawing settings:
Your Drawing unit is: Foot - OK!
The drawing has a rectangle of 76 foot by 30 foot - OK,
The settings for the Page size is customized: 11 foot by 17 foot. You must have a big printer, haven't you
And your scale for the printing is 1/4096" = 1'-0" - not OK.

I don't know the size of your printer but if I keep the settings for the drawing unit (Foot) and choose an ANSI A Letter as the page size your scale for printing should be around 1"=128"
And for the Viewport Offset x,y - click the Button for Zero Point.

Try it and tell me please how it works for you.

Thanks again. I will try your suggestion.
Some day I am going to understand this scaling stuff.
I hope somebody writes a book on QCAD that goes
into great details.
