coordinate pick

Post by ljbuller » Fri May 15, 2020 5:54 pm

I love QCAD, but...I have to be very careful in snapping to a point i.e. end point of a line, center of circle etc. If I am not careful to hold the mouse motionless for just a bit, the position will drag off of the snap point.

I have seen this behavior on many different drawings. I do not think the drawing I have attached is unique or can add anything to the discussion, but I had used a ordinate dimension to print this out for a guy who could not read a dxf. bottom line is I had to go back and review the center property of each circle to verify the coordinate. I found 2 errors that have been fixed on the attached file where it did not look like the dimension line did not point exactly at the center.

I am using a conventional mouse, and have seen this behavior on multiple computers.

Is there anything I can do about this other than be really careful?

You could try to find a for you better working setting within the Cursor Range.

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
