Dimension label font in free version
Hi,
I noticed a weird behavior of dimensions fonts in the free version of QCAD.
When I draw some dimension, the label is extremely clear and simple like that in the attached image (dim1.png).
If I change something in the Dimension dialog (from Edit->Drawing Preferences->Dimension Settings) the labels font in the drawing changes to a different font (in my case it uses "DejaVu Sans" as you can see in the second image, dim2.png).
This happens even if I make no effective change like, for instance, if I disable and re-enable the "Keep proportions" checkbox.
I noticed that it's possible to change the label font, just, replacing it in the dxf file (I know that the Pro version allows to change the font in the dedicated dialog).
The strange thing is that if I re-open the file, all the dimensions labels are back to the clear initial font and I need to do the trick in the dimension dialog to reset all the label with the font I've chosen.
Is it a bug?

Re: Dimension label font in free version
I forgot to say that I run QCAD 3.9.8 on Ubuntu 14.04 (but I noticed the same behavior on previous versions of QCAD and on Windows 7).

Did anybody encounter this bug?
Or it affects just my two computers?
Thanks for your reply

Re: Dimension label font in free version
Hi,
I have seen very strange behavior with unexpected font changes after updating my MacOS QCad community edition to the latest version as well. Now all my dimensions render with this very ugly bold wide spaced font and I can't seem to change it! Anyone else having this problem? I tried removing all preferences and wiping & reinstalling the application, with no effect.
Dan.

For all support requests, please:
- indicate the exact version of QCAD you are using (see Help > About or QCAD > About QCAD)
- attach original drawing files (DXF, DWG, ...) if appropriate

Re: Dimension label font in free version
Two years later, but yes - I see it, too with QCAD CE 3.18.1 x64 (on Xubuntu 16.04 64-bit). Technically, I guess it's a bug since it's "spontaneous" behavior, but actually the font that shows up after applying drawing preferences is preferable to me. I wish it would "stick" full time.marzof wrote:Did anybody encounter this bug?

Re: Dimension label font in free version
It sticks pretty good in the Pro because there is a setting in Application/Drawing Preferences which takes care of the Dim Font ...lphilpot wrote:I wish it would "stick" full time.
