Re: Help required
If the problem is reproducible, please proceed as follows:
- open your file
- add the text
- File > Save as...
- Choose format "R15 [2000/LT2000] DXF Drawing [dxflib] (*.dxf)" - that's the last entry in the list of available formats
- Save under a new name
Attach the file you have saved like this.

Re: Help required
Done. I will let you know if this goes now.
Another question for you. The version I have is 3.16. I downloaded newer version. The pdf export is not working. Strange to know that border is displayed but not matter inside the border. Just to let you know that this is after details in Edit/Drawing preferences/printing is updated. Any idea what could be the reason?

Re: Help required
The idea would be to attach the file here, so I can try and reproduce the problem, thanks.Aircraft53 wrote:Done. I will let you know if this goes now.

Re: Help required
Again, please save file (with texts present) using the dxflib filter and attach the resulting file.
Re: Help required
A brief look at the file makes me suspect that the texts might have been created on layer "Defpoints" and that Teigha might treat that layer differently than other layers (i.e. not allow any / certain texts on it). Just a wild guess for now and I still cannot reproduce this here. Another potential culprit could be the use of a font that causes problems.
Again, the DXF file with texts, saved using dxflib would likely be helpful.

Re: Help required
File saved choosing format "R15 [2000/LT2000] DXF Drawing [dxflib] (*.dxf)" helps as text are not disappearing but I have another issue.
Most of the text entered gets text height of 2.5 on its own.
Everything fine when file is saved in format as mentioned above. When file is opened again, the text height is changed from 0 to 2.5 on its own.
See attached file for your reference.
I also suspect that your below point might be the case. Should I create on layer 0?

Re: Help required
Any other layer will do. You can also simply load the file, rename layer "Defpoints" to anything else ("Text", "MyLayer", ...) and save again.Aircraft53 wrote:I also suspect that your below point might be the case. Should I create on layer 0?

Re: Help required
Still not working after changing layer other than Def points.
Re: Help required
@Aircraft53
Is this drawing completely done in QCAD?
@Andrew
Just wondering: Why is the text reference that far off? It should be on top of the letters. If I use a text hight of 1 = everything is fine. 0.5, 2, 5 etc works also fine but 0.25 or 0.1 is far off.
This one used a text hight of 0.05

Re: Help required
The text height is relatively large (e.g. 2.5), but the text is then formatted inline to be very small ("\H0.05;" means text after this is 0.05 units high). All the texts in this drawing set the font and text height as inline formatting instead of text entity attributes for some reason..
Re: Help required
Thanks for explanation, Andrew.

Re: Help required
The text height of 2.5 appears on its own. When it was created text height was 0. Save the file, close & open the file, the text height of 2.5 appears on its own by software.
The text height h/0.05 is used to put drawing in A4 size paper.
Can you please explain what you mean by below statement?
"All the texts in this drawing set the font and text height as inline formatting instead of text entity attributes for some reason"
How I can change from inline formatting to text entity?

Re: Help required
See attached file. The text height in it doe snot disappear. The matter inside the header if I enter, disappears or disorients like adding text height of 2.5.
