To use a new font with QCAD (or any other application on your computer), it needs to be installed on your system. There are various sites on the Internet that describe how to install fonts:

How to install or remove a font in Windows
How to install and remove fonts on your Mac

Under Linux (like all things Linux) the task largely depends on your Linux distribution, version thereof and on your Window manager, etc. Please search the Internet for your Linux distribution name and "install TTF font". For example "Ubuntu 18 install TTF font".
