Hi,
I'm a beginner with this community version. I removed the plugins to use it as a community edition. I started to draw with QCad but when I want to import the map on which I want to include my drawing, Qcad crashes systematically...
Is there a solution to that problem ? Has anyone experienced the same problem ?
Thank you for your help ! And have a nice day.
Anne

Re: Crash when importing svg file
Hi again,
to anyone who has that problem... if you import your file *.pdf into Inskape, then save it in *.svg file you can then convert it into *.dxf file with Convertio. https://convertio.co
(select CAD when you choose the file type for the converting, *.dxf file type will be suggested)
It doesn't solve the problem of svg import but can help those who use Inkscape to convert .pdf file to .svg. I didn't try to convert pdf to dxf...

Re: Crash when importing svg file
Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.
See QCAD Features, features in blue italic are available in QCAD Professional only.
Knowing that vector data import from PDF is a Pro-only feature ...
... I wonder what type of (PDF) data you attempted to import to crash QCAD CE.
I would already file a bug or crash report for that on QCAD Bugtracker.
The detour using an online conversion service for basic geometry only is a plausible solution.
And the conversion from PDF (vector data) to DXF would also be an option, to DWG not.
The title of your topic states "Crash when importing SVG file".

- Were you attempting to import an PDF renamed with the suffix SVG ... ?
Or does the crash occurs when importing a PDF with only vector data?
- Doesn't that affect the SVG import from a source like 'Convertio'... ?
