QCAD 3.27.1 Windows 11
I am unable to resolve this issue an therefore can not print my drawings'. When Qcad was installed on my old laptop with Windows10 there were no issues printing. The issue started with my new laptop and Windows11. Had my Windows11 installation checked and there are no issues. Also got he latest print drivers to no avail. Installed Qcad on a laptop with Windows10 and had no issues printing>
It appears there is an issue between Qcad and Windows11 that I need to overcome, but I am at a loss on what go do.
Thank you

Fishing in muddy water myself...
Did you try to use the working qcad3.ini from W10 for the W11system?
Where to find the qcad3.ini?

Don't forget to close Qcad on W11 before you copy the ini ...
Another question: When you close (X) this extra printer preview window - do you then are able to use the underneath launched Qcad Preview dialog?

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
QcadPro, QcadCam, Win11/64, 64GB RAM, 10-Core, SSD

Hi,
What you show us is that there is no print preview in the printer dialog.
This is a more recent kind of printer dialog, before there was no preview area in the printer dialog.

Also follow the links in these topics.
Bottom line:
The message 'This app doesn't support print preview' should be clear ...
There is no quick draft preview, the dialog was/is essentially intended to select a printer device.
QCAD has its own specialized preview method build in and only starts exporting geometry after a device is selected ...
... After the button 'Print' is activated.
In the background we see that QCAD is in print preview mode.
Grey is then outside the paper but in your case the printer dialog obscures the page preview itself (Different from Topic 11465)
Avoiding to repeat all that is already said in the above links.
Also see the tutorial: Printing and PDF Export

Re: Unable to print Follow-up from Jan22
Ok, so I made a simple drawing of a circle , then did Print Preview (Ctrl+Shift+P) which worked as expected. Tried to Print (Ctrl+P) and got the same error again.
Out of curiosity tried to print QCAD3.ini and got the error again.
Installed QCAD3.ini from Windows10 and no luck.
On the Laptop with Windows10 QCAD3.ini would print just fine.
I am at a total loss on how to proceed as it seems to be specific to my laptop with Windows11.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help

Re: Unable to print Follow-up from Jan22
I did a little research...
Looks like the issue is caused by a W11 printer update(22H2?). After that many user complained about the same problem with various other programs. It is not Qcad specific. That is also the reason why you don't have a problem with W10.
However, it is fixable with changing a Win 11 Registry entry which restores the previous print dialog. Note: This should only be done by someone who has experience with it and knows what he/she is doing!!!
To get an idea what I'm talking about search the www for something like:
Restore the Legacy Print Dialog in Windows 11
Sorry but for liability reasons we can't help you much further in this matter.
Good luck.

Re: Unable to print Follow-up from Jan22
Question:
What happens when you select your printer and hit the 'Print' button?
That is all the functionality required from the printer Dialog.
To select a certain device.
QCAD does not start exporting geometry before that.
<Screenshot 2025-02-24 165920.png> is the best preview you could ever wish for.
It is called page preview mode.

Re: Unable to print Follow-up from Jan22
Please define 'ERROR'.
For example:
Printed an empty page. Getting a partial printout. Landscape vs Portrait. Printed in wrong scale.
Therefore, you must first actually issue a 'Print' instruction and compare with what is printed on paper.
I see a message saying that QCAD does not support print preview.
Not displayed in a (modal) Dialog with limited size.
With less layout options than there are in the specialized QCAD Print Preview Mode.
Printing when in QCAD Print Preview Mode is best done with the Print button on the Options Toolbar ... Not with Ctrl+P

Re: Unable to print Follow-up from Jan22
Happy to report that as of today printing my drawings works again.
No idea why, maybe of a recent update.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Chris
